Kitchen Display Setup Guide

Introduction:

The Kitchen Display System (KDS) comes with kitchen-grade hardware that connects your kitchen team to the front-of-house systems, including point of sale, kiosk, and online or digital ordering.

eatOS KDS will help you manage your restaurant kitchen workflow and deliver quickly to your customers, keeping an eye on your incoming orders and monitoring turnaround time. This enables you to understand & assess your kitchen workflow and improvements.

KDS Home Screen (Default Screen)

Access using the same login credentials on ALL devices.

KDS Log In

The KDS device can be accessed using identical login credentials as the point-of-sale system.

In the case of stand-alone KDS devices, you will be required to enter a 24-digit activation code. However, if the KDS device is integrated with the POS device, the activation code becomes unnecessary, and you will be directed straight to the KDS home screen.

Choose the primary device for usage, which will dictate the default screen display, and proceed with assigning a device name. Kitchen Display Systems – Tickets

When your restaurant's Point-of-Sale fires an order, a ticket with order details appears on your KDS screen. Refer to the below sample screen showing orders on display.

Ticket Order Display

Orders from POS, Kiosk, OrderOS, and order & pay devices can be displayed in your KDS simultaneously.

Select/Deselect categories at your KDS setting under the category filter

This feature allows you to group the products based on the course. Tickets will display items based on the course and can be served by course

The ticket status box indicates changes as orders progress from new items to being served.

Kitchen Display System – Settings

Category Filter

Revenue Center Filter

Revenue centers are used for reporting purposes to distinguish the total income of your restaurant. Revenue centers can be configured through the eatOS dashboard.

Mode Switcher

This feature allows you to switch between ticket modes:

Servable Modifier

Enable the servable modifier if a modifier can be served separately from the main item.

Status Settings

Customize the color of the status timer to differentiate between fresh orders and overdue orders. Select your preferred colors for the following statuses:

Log Out

Orders in Queue – indicates total orders in a queue – numbers will refresh or change every time an order is completed or delivered

How to Fulfill a Ticket / Order

An entire ticket order can be fulfilled on the KDS by simply tapping the Status Bar or Seen box. However, the kitchen may also prefer to fulfill individual items on a ticket as they are ready by tapping the seen (eye icon of each product item)

Step 1: To fulfill an individual item, select the eye icon on the item you wish to fulfill. Icons will change as the order progresses. If you have selected the wrong item, tap the back icon and select the right item to fulfill

Step 2: Items served will appear in the red bell icon or served icon

Step 3: To fulfill the entire order/item, tap the Seen status to ready all items at once
