Getting started Deftun MSR90 (USB Card Reader)

Introduction

The Deftun MSR90 is a hand-swipe-operated magnetic card reading machine featuring a USB interface and a high-integrated magnetic card decoding chip. They have small electricity consumption and strong interference resistance. NO Software is required! USB: Simply plug and play.

Hardware Setup

Plug in the Card reader via the USB plug to one of the open USB ports on the POS Terminal on the underside of the screen where the POS power connector is. After this, you will simply install the integration via the eatOS dashboard. Log in at the eatOS Dashboard to get started.

After logging in to the dashboard, install the integration of your gift card provider, and that's it! See this article on how to complete that step.

Testing

Reloading, refilling, and charging gift cards is a snap with the MSR90. Let's go over how to complete these actions. First, we start at the New Order screen, as pictured below.

Next, click on the three vertical dots next to the search button.

Click on the Gift Card button.

Here, you'll see the gift card page where you can charge, refill, and check card balances.

Troubleshooting

Try unplugging and plugging back in the card reader if you have trouble. Also, you can try a different USB port on the POS. If you continue to have issues, please call our support line.
