Beyond the Golden Arches: McDonald's New Program Elevates Black Fashion Talent

To encourage and assist Black fashion designers, McDonald's launches the Black and Positively Golden Change of Fashion initiative. Due to the low percentage of Black designers in the United States (7.3%), the McDonald's program is extremely important. McDonald's I addressed the issues of diversity in the industry with this launch. Given that this program is a comprehensive undertaking, its launch has had a significant impact on interest. For a year-long mentorship, this initiative pairs five up-and-coming designers with five seasoned Black industry professionals.

The master classes that are conducted by experienced designers provide them the insight into the industry guidelines and serve as a helping hand. This knowledge would help the designers in the long run.
